Hi friends!!!! As most of you know, I have Turner Syndrome. My mom (aka twin) diagnosed me when I was seven and I was then was clinically diagnosed at that time as well. My case is pretty unique because I also have Tourette's Syndrome and Pseudo Seizures. Turner Syndrome is found in females where we are either missing our second X chromosome either completely or partially. I have Classic Turner Syndrome which means my 2nd X chromosome is completely missing. Sadly, we only have a 2% chance of survival. I have not only beat those odds but the odds that Doctor's have given me over the years. I was on growth hormones for a total of 7 years (7-14). I am completely tolerant of needles because of that! I am moderately hearing impaired which is very common in TS. I also have Hypothyroidism. We tend to have heart problems but I only have a bicuspid aortic valve which is functionally beautifully and may never need repaired. But because Turner Syndrome is not me--- I want you to know the REAL me! I graduated from college with Honors and a 3.7 GPA. I work full time as a Preschool Teacher. I am  very independent and have traveled the country by myself. I love to travel! The best thing that has ever happened to me and one of my greatest joys is being an Aunt to my precious nephew Zachary! His Mommy has made me his surrogate 2nd Mommy. My favorite thing to do is reading a good book! I LOVE spending time with my TS sisters throughout the year... most importantly at the National Turner Syndrome Conference held in a different part of the country every year!
