As many of you know Stella was diagnosed with Turners Syndrome when she was only 1 day old. During the first year of her life we were unable to get involved with any Turners events, trying to raise our first baby was hard work! This past year I have been able to go to more meetings and be a little more involved. This walk shows great support for a cause that is very near and dear to our hearts! The money will go towards donations that help fund conference scholarships, promote awareness, provide local activities, and help fund medical research.

For every doctors appointment we go to, the starting age for Turners research is 2 years old. So Stella's heart defect has always been measured at child without Turners, therefore making it seem a little scarier than it actually is.  Same when measuring her height. She has never been measured on a Turners scale until after her 2nd birthday. Stella hasn't been on the growth charts since she was 6 month old. Finally after her 2nd year appointment she is on the charts!! Hopefully with more funding there can be more research done for girls with Turners under the age of 2.
